As requested by parents, Bear Dog’s consent form can now be downloaded as an editable pdf file. Once completed please save it and email it to Ruth as an attachment.

Bear Dog is registered with OfSTED under registration number 2669643. After a snap inspection on 28th October 2025 we were described by the inspector as “an excellent provision” which had met all OfSTED requirements.

Ruth Hubbard is the key person for every child who attends Bear Dog, has advanced (Level 3) designated safeguarding lead training and holds a paediatric first aid certificate, in addition to having undertaken specialist outdoor pursuits first aid training. Bear Dog is registered with South Oxfordshire District Council Environmental Health and has a five star food hygiene rating.


Bear Dog regularly reviews its risk assessments and has a range of policies, including:

  • Safeguarding

  • Sick child/Administration of medication

  • Uncollected children

  • Data protection

  • Equalities

  • Health and safety

  • Staff conduct

  • DBS

  • Complaints

  • COVID standard operating procedures
